Mr. Leonard Cole (JFNA/UIA)

Committee Member

Dr. Leonard Cole is a former chairman of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and former president of the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey. Currently he co-chairs the Jewish Agency’s Task Force on Anti-Semitism and is chairman of the liaison committee to Taglit-Birthright from the Jewish Federations of North America.

 

Cole is an adjunct professor in the Division of Global Affairs at Rutgers University, and is director of the Program on Terror Medicine and Security at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He holds a PhD in political science from Columbia University and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.  An expert on bioterrorism and terror medicine, he has appeared frequently on public and network television and has written numerous articles including for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Times.

 

He is the author or editor of nine books including Terror: How Israel Has Coped and What America Can Learn.

 

He has been a Committee Member since 2002.  He serves as Co-Chair of the Task Force on Anti-Semitism.
